What Types of Payment Options do We Offer?

What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the event? What is the cancellation policy?

Our team keeps updated on any weather – we will confirm prior to the 48hr deadline.

Cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance to avoid a minimum 20% charge on your order.

You have the option to reschedule the event within 30 days.

How Far in Advance do I need to book service?

Please book your event 48-72 at a minimum.

Popular dates are requested months in advance and book quickly… like NNO, 4th of July, National Ice Cream Day, Field Days, Nurses Week, Juneteenth, etc.

How Does it Work?

We will deliver ready-to-go-fully stocked pushcart/s, an umbrella/s, and menu/s of your ice cream selections.

We will deliver the cart/s before your event and pick up after or the next day.

Please provide a two-hour window for delivery and pick up.

Our regular event catering hours are Monday-Saturday 8am-4pm.

How much does it cost to rent out the cart?

Our starting minimum to rent out the cart with ice cream novelties starts at $320.00 before any servers, additional fees, and taxes.

This starting total consists of $200 minimum ice cream order and a $120 cart/ local delivery rental. The minimum ice cream order is anywhere from 60-240 svgs, averaging about $1.37-$5.50+ per person.

Is staff included in the cart rental?

The cart is self-served and ready for ice cream distribution. A Server or servers are Optional. Book one of our friendly, professional servers to dole out the treats for your guests.

One server for one hour is an additional $50+ tax.

Can the customer come pick up the pushcart?

Accepted Answer

No, for safety purposes- Southern Ice is solely responsible for transporting the pushcart properly.

Event Caterers with appropriate trailers, etc. can be accommodated.

Can we the customer move the cart to another location?

Unless the event is around the block and the cart will be pushed back to a secure place until pick up…- Southern Ice is solely responsible for transporting the pushcart properly. Event Caterers with appropriate trailers, etc. can be accommodated.

Can I only rent the cart?

Unfortunately, we do not offer only cart rentals. Pushcart rental is available only with the purchase of our ice cream products.

Can the cart be indoors or outdoors?

Accepted Answer

The ice cream push carts can be used either indoors or outdoors. Please do not place a cart outdoors if the weather does not allow it like rain, hail, windy conditions.

When will additional fees apply?

While we do deliver on the weekends, our regular delivery hours are Monday through Saturday from 8am-4pm. We will deliver after hours and on the weekends but a surcharge fee will apply. Otherwise, we can deliver the cart on Friday and pick it up on Monday.

Delivery depends on where the cart is being delivered to. Our minimum delivery charge is $50+ tax and can range up to $125+. If you’re booking online, your delivery total will be automatically calculated towards the end. If you call in to book, our staff will be more than happy to give you an accurate delivery rate. Does the Cart require Electricity?

Our push carts use a standard 3 prong 110-volt plug. They are also equipped with cold plates that will stay cold for six to eight hours without being plugged in.

Can I purchase Dry Ice for the Cart?

Yes, we sell dry ice. If your event is longer than six hours and there is no electricity, please make sure to order dry ice.

Adult supervision required. We will send handling instructions.

What is included in the Sundae Party?

This ice cream package consists of scooped ice cream and toppings. The minimum rental for this package is 100 servings. This service includes 2 servers for a duration of 1 hour. Servers will arrive at the event 30-45 minutes prior to setting up.

We provide the traditional ice cream sundae bar with Chocolate, Strawberry, and Vanilla Ice Cream. Each guest gets 2 scoops and a selection of 9 toppings. We handle the set up and clean up. We will provide: Bowls, napkins, spoons, 5-6 ft table, black or blue tablecloth.

Can we choose the ice cream flavors?

Yes, our traditional flavors are Choc, Straw and Vanilla. We can substitute for other flavors. Additional fees will apply for Sorbets, Italian Ice, NSA Options or a Premium selection, etc.

How much space is needed for setup?

We will require about 10 feet of space. We take a table 5-6 ft long and our carts are about 4 ft wide.

Please make sure to inform the special event coordinator if extra may be needed. We prepare our kits close enough to what has been pre-paid. Even though we always have about 25 extra cups just in case of an accident-If more servings are handed out upon the event, we will process payment after the event.

What happens to any leftovers?

You are more than welcome to keep any open ice cream tubs, leftover toppings and cups. No refunds will be made if prepaid servings are not met.

How many servings fit in a cart?

Small Push Carts hold up to 400 max servings and Large Push Carts hold up to 700 max servings. Southern Ice Cream will determine which size to use based on your order. Please remember to order the correct number of Carts with your order.

How many days are included in the cart rental?

Cart rentals are for 48 hours only. If you need the cart longer, please get to the special event coordination for further details and pricing. No weekly/ monthly rentals during high peak season.

You are welcome to choose as many ice cream choices but we recommend no more than 6-8 since product visibility and presentation will be a bit challenging.

Is there a lock on the cart?

We do not have locks on the cart. Upon delivery- the cart will have a crossbar and a zip tie on. The driver will instruct the customer how to remove it. Please instruct- if zip tie needs to be left on.

What is included in the Ice Cream Cart Social?

The ice cream truck package included a min. of 100 servings. We offer only prepacked if cream novelties- a preset menu of 16+ items will be available for you and your guest to select from. Our trucks come with a TV and a stand-up menu. Please request a sample of the menu if needed.

We always have a bit extra on the truck but please make sure to inform the special event coordinator if more is needed. Any additional servings will be processed after the event.
